The dynamism of landscape process presents a representational challenge and my primary approach in communicating middle field has been to chart the specifics of its components and adaptive maintenance. This "film strip" is helpful in extracting individual elements as they become apparent, but also the simultaneity of these observations begins to show the complexity, or genius loci, of the site, and the potential for adaptive maintenance to respond to the flux and novelty of landscape.
